So I finally caught the movie, avoiding all spoilers and reviews as it has already started screening in US since Feb 14. I went with two of my girlfriends who had never read the book (or the synopsis). I was worried that the movie might disappoint them as it's a work day and we caught the late show (9.30 pm, which means, the movie ends about 11.30 pm).
As a huge fan of the book, for about half hour I kept comparing the scenes to the book and needless to say I was not that pleased. My friends however was having a hoot sitting. So I started to wonder, am I ruining the movie by making comparisons? Should I just tell my brain to shut up and simply sit back and enjoy the movie and the company I have sitting next to me?
So I told my brain to take a break and I am surprise how much I love the movie! My eyes were on Christian Ozera the entire time when I thought I will be drooling over Dimitri, the fighting god. Dominic Sherwood, the guy that played Christian Ozera, was uber hot (watch the pun!) in my book and I'll let him feed on my blood any day.
I was not at all disappointed with Rose Hathaway's character. I think she packed a lot of punch, attitude and sarcasm it hurts if Richelle Mead chose not to start filming Frostbite. So... Richelle, if you're a fan of Googling your own name and stumbled upon my humble blog post, imagine me staring deep into your eyes, using compulsion to allow you to willingly bring yourself to start the Vampire Academy franchise, like, pronto. Once a year is a good frequency... so chop chop! Time is of essence here! Oh... thank you for bringing VA to the big screen. XOXO for that!
To my readers, go watch the movie. If you like it, go read the book!
