Have passport, will eat.

My friends have been bugging me to get my passport renewed since last year. I finally did it and collected the new one 2 months ago. Last weekend, my passport lost its virginity to Johor Bahru, Malaysia.

Enjoy the photos. Just looking at it makes me wanna burp.

My Suffering

The name kind of stick whenever friends ask me what I'm having from lunch. I've even shared it with friends and colleague whenever I have a spare pack. No one died so far.
Friend: Suffering for lunch?
Me: Yeah...
I've started this new habit since October last year and am trying to stick to it without relapse. My recipe is based on stuff I can eat. I'm not a veggie person so as you can see, there's not much greens in mine aside from the salad mix.

So here's what you need:

  • Salad mix
  • Pasta of your choice
  • Potatoes of your choice
  • Baby carrots
  • Baby corn
  • Crabmeat (or any frozen stuff you can muster)
  • Dressing (I personally prefer Extra Virgin Olive Oil now)

If Money Is Enough

There are moments in my life where I feel that I am not where I am suppose to be and I am not leading the life that was meant for me. So let me just ponder on this idea that I have bottomless wallet, sharing with you, my dear readers, what I will do with it.

10 most annoying people to travel with

  1. Selfish Selfie
There are more than one people on the trip but your Facebook photo album only has your face in it. What gives? Annnnnndddd... why are there more selfies than the view of that place you visited?
  2. The "Mute-iny"
Y U No Talk??? One thing I can't stand on a trip is when your only travel partner refuse to have a conversation with you. I love to chat so silence is never that golden afterall!
  3. The Late One
Don't waste my time. FOUR simple words you should abide by if you want to travel with me. In fact, it's a very important four words you should know if you want to even hang out with me.
  4. The Coattail Rider
I respect opinions so to rely on solely me to make all the decisions is not cool.
  5. The Overpacker
I don't mind if you want to lug your entire wardrobe but don't whine about how heavy your bag is or how little space there are in overhead storage.
  6. The Posh One It is important that all parties traveling together will know what kind of a vacation this will be and the budget required to fulfill all aspect of the trip. Stop dragging me to 5-star restaurant just so that you can experience local cuisine using gajillion cutleries.
  7. The Major Shoestring-er
If you're traveling with me, more likely I would have given you a ballpark figure of how much is required on the trip. I hate it when we finally land and right at the airport, you kept asking me why is everything so expensive. Next time, just stick to your staycations.
  8. The "Must-Do-Everything"
There are pros and cons to people who are like this. They will be able to plan a wholesome itinerary from start to finish but at the end of the trip, I will be 'finished'. I'm on vacation. Let me snooze a while longer! Hahaha.
  9. The Shopper
It's ok to shop but not to the point where you will need to buy additional luggage or worse, dump your shit in mine. As I am not a shopper, I find myself getting very well acquainted with that stool in the middle of the mall. Imagine this guy who is also a no.5!
  10. The Lazy One
I have to admit that I do fall under this category sometimes but that usually happen when I travel with a no.8. Otherwise, I do expect my travel partners to be good to go when the time comes and not waste my precious vacay time.

In retrospect, I think I might be ready to travel solo. Damn scared leh! But I gotta do it at least once in my life to experience what the fuss is about. Where should I go?

Welcome to my nightmare

I have this weird habit of analysing my dreams, good or bad. I even have an app for it. Sometimes I even analyse friends' dreams and they will call me bull but somehow I helped them connect the dream to the analysis and to what's going on IRL.

So, last night, I had this amazing dream that I was about to embark on a month long tour to Europe with a very good friend of mine, together with his wife and daughter. I have no idea where I had acquired that much funds to travel like that but, hey, I am aware that it's just a dream.

I remembered we were in Singapore airport and as usual, I was running through my packing list and realised I had under-packed like crazy. It was too late to do anything so I boarded the plane, started twisting my hair into weird fashion to hide the fact I was a nervous wrecked!

We landed in Los Angeles (allegedly) and got to tour the city for a bit before catching the next plane to god knows where. Being the avid photographer, I wanted to whip out my film camera and start shooting. To my horror, I found myself with measly 3 rolls of slide films (awesome ones that you wouldn't want to mess with) and dug my bag wondering which camera I had packed (or did  not *gasp*). Of course, I had to mess that up too. All I packed was a Diana F+ which is of course, the wrong format for the films I brought. How to shoot?!?!?!

Here comes the analysis... sans apps!
  1. The travel bit
I am hungry to travel again and all I can afford is to dream about it. Sad, I know.
  2. The under-packed baggage
Basically, I dropped my entire life to just leave. Obviously I am avoiding a real life problem.
  3. Photographer's worst nightmare
Yes, I am itching to shoot again and have been on hiatus for a month-ish (I think). Also that 3 roll of films in my bag represented the ones I have in my film bag that needs to be send for development.
  4. That friend
    Doh... I miss him much!
So.... yeah. End of story. I need to travel, like, pronto!

365 days later

It's been exactly a year since I renounced my 'girlfriend' status. It's been a year since I saw him. It's been a year of independence and test of my womanly strength. It's been a year of happiness.

Can you spot the differences? Hahaha... I am still the narcissist you once knew a year ago. It's my flaw; I embrace it wholly.

What do I wish for the next 365 days? A better, stronger and flawsome me.

Join me on this journey, will ya?

Hey, remember me?

I know.
I don't care.
This space is mine.
I'll do what I want with it.
I don't remember how but I'll try.

Smash My Pumpkin

This is so upsetting to see one of my favourite female bassist D'Arcy Wretky from one of my favourite 90s band, Smashing Pumpkins, has turned into a train wreck. Just fucking look at that face!

The self absorbed Fida would like to share with her dear readers her top 10 favourite iPhone apps that she use more regularly than her sense of humility.

They are in no particular order and I am not paid to promote any of them so to prevent any misunderstanding, I will not link it to the download page.

Singapore Got Talent

Seriously, where hath all the talents in Singapore gone to? I miss those days when our local music tv shows showcases foreign AND local talents. What is the National Arts Council (NAC) has to say about the steep declination of local goods? Dear readers, enjoy these songs I found on YouTube - made in Singapore.

#MH370 Mysterious Dissapearance

I actually have a blog topic in mind but decided to postponed it so that I can discuss with you about the recent crisis of the missing Malaysian Airline's MH370. I have been following the news since the day it was first published, refreshing MH's website for new press releases and scouring many news portal for latest updates. I am very freaked out that the airplane has since not been discovered. No modern technology has been able to locate it (aside from the oil slicks that's allegedly from MH370) and media has been spewing out countless speculations on its whereabouts.

Vamps on big screen

So I finally caught the movie, avoiding all spoilers and reviews as it has already started screening in US since Feb 14. I went with two of my girlfriends who had never read the book (or the synopsis). I was worried that the movie might disappoint them as it's a work day and we caught the late show (9.30 pm, which means, the movie ends about 11.30 pm).

Wearable tech dress becomes transparent when you're feeling raunchy

I'm sorry, but in what world would anyone women would want to expose themselves every time when their pikachu is feeling hot and bothered? I guess this dress, made of leather, foils and whatnots, must have been invented by a man. Why don't they come up with some space pants that can hide hard-ons instead? Watch the video to see how the dress works... and how uncomfortable they look.

Happy Valentine's Day.... NOT!

14th February 2014 made history in my life where I celebrated my Valentine's Day with 7 other ladies and we painted the city RED! No, we weren't boycotting couples celebrating their love in public, on the contrary, we are celebrating the end of courtship for our friend, Zana. Her wedding's in a month's time and we picked the perfect day to make her realise what she will be leaving behind. There's probably like 87,563 photos of us from that night, but I've decided to display the decent ones where we are all still, erm, sober-ish.
