I believe that if society plans school in such a way that it will be fun and engaging, no students will ever want to skip school! Give them to option to explore and pick up new skills that they have always wanted to learn while they are still young. Here are some examples I came up with (and coincidentally my list too):
- Cooking
I'm embarrassed to type this but I cannot cook. I find this skill set will be beneficial for a woman like myself who will one day either end up being a wife/mother or a spinster with 10 cats to feed. - Baking
I've always loved baking but I've never actually been awesome at it. I can bake and has been since I was 5 years old. I would love to attend proper classes to learn proper techniques to better quality and of course, better looking desserts. - Photography
No, am not referring to DSLR shiznits. I had always wanted to learn more about analogue photography and immerse myself in the lomography culture. I did attended some classes, sufficient to kick start my analogue adventure. - Sewing
I had this dream in my head where in my ideal world, I will be a stay at home girlfriend/wife/mom and spend my time sewing pretty dresses and sell them at premium price. I will get to this after I'm done with my degree. It's a very useful skill to have in my opinion. - Dancing
I'm not talking about the boogie oogie woogie. I have that one in my bag, no problem. I'm talking about proper ballroom style like salsa or tango. - Scrapbooking
I don't really know why but for once I wanna produce something pretty for myself or other people and what's the best way to start then to make a scrapbook. I can create a travel album or I dunno... for someone I love. The effort injected into the project will be worth more than money can buy.
These are just things that I want to learn hopefully before I get tied down with bigger responsibilities in life. You should make a list for yourself and hopefully you will be able to find the time, money and energy to fulfil them. Trust me, it'll be worth it!
