Any chance I have to be online was spent walking the streets of unfamiliar neighbourhood. I tried it on my phone but it drains my battery life like a mofo. Needless to say even while I was out celebrating the weekend, I was eager to get back home and log in to Google Street View.
On Saturday, I went to Beverly Hills, checking out houses like I can afford to buy them. I did dropped by High Voltage Tattoo just to check out the graffiti on the back wall. I flew (not my plane, doh!) to Santa Monica and hang out at the pier as well. The area is too sparse for me to stroll about hence I gave up after an hour or so.
The entire Sunday (or at least from the moment I woke up, which was past noon), I strolled the streets of New York and surprisingly I find myself very familiar with area after a while. My go-to place is always the Lomography store, tucked in the quiet alley on 6th Avenue West 8th Street. See! I typed that without Googling!
Maybe it's the universe way of saying "Dude! You can't afford to travel. Here's a virtual world for you to immerse in without spending a cent (well, accept for paying for your broadband subscription)!". Sad is my life. I would love to strike lottery but in order to win, I have to buy some lottery tickets, which I have no idea how!
If I win a million dollars, I have to get my loans outta the way first and use the remaining dollar to travel. I need about S$2,400 at most to fly to New York and accommodation will set me back about S$250/night. There are no known hostel located close to where I want to go unless I couchsurf. Maybe I should, when the time come. I don't mind staying in the outskirts (Bronx, Brooklyn etc) but I'm wasting time having to commute all the time to get to the main land.
Aching to experience New York... hopefully before I hit 35. Anyone wanna join me? The actual trip, not on Google Street View.
