Best of 2013

For the first time I am dumbfounded not knowing how to summarise my year without sounding like a failure. This year hadn't been an easy one for me... at all! It pains me to list them all out but I'm a trooper so I'm gonna look on the bright side and list all the good stuff that had happened, in no chronological order, because I'm feeling kinda messy right now.

The Psychos

I've known them since 1997 and we have remained friends. That's fucking 16 years and counting! I love them with all my heart regardless of our geographical barrier! The Psychos live on!

It's my birthday, bitch

I am seriously blessed to age patiently and surrounded by people I can call friends for life. As you grow older, you will learn to eliminate people in your life that's toxic and not worth keeping. I can safely declare that ageing is a beautiful thing!

What day is it?

I feel literally challenged right now

I have made a pledge to read 20 books this year. I have roughly 2 months left on the calendar and so far I have completed 16 books in total. I have 4 more to go and I am really hoping for a miracle to happen. Reading is not happening in November as I will be busy writing instead. Fuck me for taking on ridiculous projects and challenges that will somewhat do me more harm then good. To summarise my entry today is that I HAVE NO TIME! Gawd... dafuq am I doing with my life and it's almost the end of 2013. Sigh...

1. What would you do with your life if you didn't have to pay the bills?
• Travel
• Buy my own place and furnish it however way I please
• Learn a new skill. I've always wanted to learn how to sew.
2. What cuts you the deepest?
• Usually it's about money but that's not the issue now isn't it? Losing someone I love and care for will be at the top of the charts. 
• Failure comes second. Especially when I've attempted with all my heart and resulted with less than satisfactory.
3. If you were going to die tomorrow, what would you do today?
• I wanted to say 'sleep' but since I'm going to die, that should be the last thing I should think about. I will probably want to be surrounded by the people I love.
• Spend and donate my money to charity till my bank account is empty.
4. Who do you love and why do you love them?
• My boyfriend is the obvious choice here for so many reasons.
• I have to acknowledge my grandma here as she has been taking care of me since the day I was born and I felt I have not given back enough even though I've been independent since I was 18.
5. What do you quote?
• Song lyrics, be it meaningful ones or just plain dumb.
• Darnest things said by famous people on or off screen.
6. In those rare but life-changing moments, how do you act?
• I'll embrace it and if it feels good I'll embrace it repeatedly.
• I do trust my gut feel and if it doesn't feel so warm, I'd say... RUN!
7. What so you think about most?
•  I think about the future like 5 years down the road, how will my life be like
• I think about vacations. The places I want to go to and actually plan my itinerary in my head.

I work in Orchard Road and I am still on the search of affordable food that taste good but friendly on my waistline. I am fortunate to be able to enjoy free meals at work but eating Ang Moh food everyday is not... erm... fun.

Here comes the excuses...

I've been redesignated and taking in more roles at work hence the hiatus. I'm committed to blog at least once a week now, no excuses. I've yet to fix my home monitor but I've seriously gotten used to not turning on my PC!

Haven't blogged in a while as I've been occupied with work plus my monitor is not working. I had to watch movies on my mobile phone, goddamnit!

I've yet to write the final instalment of my dental woes. It'll come eventually. Just be patient with me.

Ugly Singaporeans

I've been in living in Singapore since the day I was born, my grandparents have been on this island when it's still part of Malaysia. I guess it's VERY safe to say I am a true blue Singaporean, yeah? Since young, my parents have encouraged me to be curious and accepting of other races, even foreigners. We used to live in Jurong East where I have neighbours who are Chinese, Malay, Indian and Sikhs. Most of them have kids around my age and every morning I will walk along my corridor to check if anyone's awake to entertain me. Usually their parents won't let them out so I will sit at the gate and talk to them. This paragraph is crucial in case silly trolls might use this post and STOMP me *LOL*

Tales of the dental woes (part 2)

Since young, I have been conscious of the gap between my two front teeth. I remembered when I was like eight years old, I asked the dentist in my school, almost daily, to make it disappear. My mum had to be called down not to discuss braces or anything like that, but more towards ganging up against me to keep the gap. I was thinking how terrible my school dentist was to not want me to have pretty set of pearly whites! My mum, on the other hand, kept telling me I have teeth like Madonna and Janet Jackson. Thanks mum but no. I still wanted my gap gone!

Tales of the dental woes (part 1)

Before you judge me, I have to explain that I am NOT afraid of dentists. I spent 6 years of my life hanging around the dentist office and prolly even tell myself that I will be a dentist some day. And since I've left school (where dental services are free), I've only seen the dentist for a routine check-up like twice. That's it!

George Alexander Louis

So... the royal baby now has a name: George Alexander Louis, otherwise known as Prince George of Cambridge. According to the new mummy, they just liked the way George sounds and there's no significance to the name selection whatsoever. I had a feeling they worked closely with the bookie on this one! From the various paps shots taken, I can see that he has Kate's nose and daddy's hair *heh!* Most babies born from now forth will likely be named George, Alexander or Louis, baby girls included.

eBuried in ebooks

I've been spending a good amount of time this month reading. And also the fact that I've discovered free epubs online that I can download to my trustee iPhone and read it on the go just made it a hell lot more awesome. I can acquire any book I want... FREE! Won't share you the source though. Don't want to get into trouble now won't we.

In a short stint of about 3-4 weeks I've read so many books it's not even funny. I've never been an avid reader because I feel that I don't have the patience to finish the entire book. Although if I find myself really getting into the plot, high chance that I will not be able to put it down. I finished each Twilight book in less than 20hrs! But I will highly recommend that you start reading again, instead of playing that stupid Candy Crush game. Your brain will appreciate the switch, trust me.

The next day...

Spent most of the time in the villa eating, drinking, swimming, gambling, smoking, lounging and swatting mozzies. Not productive but we paid buck load for the villa. It rained for a few hours anyway.

Made our way out about 4-ish and hailed the cab to head straight for some TLC. Paid USD 40 for a 2 hrs aromatherapy massage. I was assigned a tiny masseuse but she's a firecracker with her hands, I tell ya!

So a bunch of us decided to check out Tulipmania at Gardens By The Bay as it's affordable compared to actually being in Holland to see those damn flowers. 

With $10 admission ticket to the Flower Dome, not only were we greeted by the pollen scent, but also the awesome air conditioning. Yes, the weather is humid that day and we were pleased to stay in the dome for as long as we could.

I love being around people but there are times when I just wish I can make them explode with my mind. For a start, don't judge me. I'm sure YOU have felt the same way, at one point or another. Also, the list refers to extreme cases and if you feel like I'm talking about you, you're probably right.

The Love Guru

I have peeps asking me how the heck am I still with the same guy for over 10 years. They want to know my secret on how I know he's my Mr Right, how I kept the fire burning and why are my friends single. They even call me The Love Guru. Obviously they must have been high on something cos' if I am indeed The Love Guru, I would either be happily married with a family of my own OR I have 32 boyfriends who love me more than I can love them.

Honestly I forgot how to blog properly like I used to. I don't find my posts any different than those I've published on Facebook, Twitter or Tumblr.
